Arthur Carl Strasdin, 92

Arthur Carl Strasdin of Somers went to be with his Lord and Saviour on May 3, 2010, in Kalispell. He had terminal cancer, but is now free from all pain and sickness. He was born on Oct. 7, 1917, in Fallon, Nev., to Peter and Libe Strasdin. Arthur had spent the majority of his life in the farming and dairy industry. Graduating from Churchill County High School, he, along with his parents, purchased the Fallon farm. He has been a member of the Assembly of God Church nearly all his life. In 1946, he was married to his first wife, Ruth Davis Strasdin. In 1970, he was married to Emma Schmick Strasdin. Both preceded him in death. Arthur s family would like to thank the staff of Greenwood Village Assisted Living, Frontier Hospice and Comfort Keepers for their loving care of our dear father. Arthur is survived by his sister, Zelma Strasdin; his three children, Paul L. Strasdin and wife, Cathy, of Fallon, Roberta A. Morken and husband, Joe, of Somers, and David C. Strasdin and wife, Lynn, of Fallon; five grandchildren, Michele (Strasdin) Byers and Tim Strasdin, both of Fallon, Julie (Strasdin) Guillen of Sparks, Nev., Randy Morken of Kalispell, and Arthur Morken of Ellensburg, Wash. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services for Arthur C. Strasdin will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 7, at the Bigfork Chapel Assembly of God, 290 Highway 83, Bigfork. Burial will follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell. Leona M. Benefield, 89, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at a Libby Hospital. Leona had been a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. She was born in Eureka to L. Dow O'Brien and Blanche Ballargen O'Brien and was the granddaughter of Andrew and Sarah O'Brien, who were early pioneers of the Tobacco Plains in north Lincoln County. The family first resided in Eureka and later moved out to Black Lake near Rexford, where she attended the Black Lake School; she later walked five miles into Eureka each day to attend high school.

Fay Sullivan, 85, of Helena and Rollins, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at her daughter's home, in Helena, surrounded by her family. Fay was born the youngest of seven children on Sept. 26, 1921, to John L. and Emma I. Swanson at the family homestead in Wallace County, Kan.

Our precious wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Darlene Kay Hoerner of Polson, “was reunited with her Dad and Sister in heaven” on June 25, 2013. While traveling home with her family, she was involved in a fatal car accident in Texas.

Fred R. Erickson,75, died Saturday Nov. 4, 2006, at Brendan House Nursing Facility in Kalispell. He was born in Rolla, N.D., on Oct. 2, 1931, to Fred L. and Hertha (Banse) Erickson. The family moved to Chinook in 1944. Fred graduated from Chinook High School in 1950. In high school, Fred joined the National Guard and later graduated from Officers Training School with the rank of lieutenant.
