The forest or the trees?
One must marvel at the liberals’ hand-wringing humanity while we callous folk sit in a stupor, watching the nation implode.
LETTER: Gun control would encourage crime and hamper liberty
Gary Vinson (Sept. 6 letter) thinks more gun control is the answer to our country’s descent into degeneracy. He’s fallen for the siren call of those who would have us legislated into slavery. His reasoning, such as it is, advocates the abolition of the balance of fear that keeps government from becoming that which our founders strived to prevent.
LETTER: Did you hear the one about the Clown, the Crook and the Clod?
It is with such joy, assurance, and deep-seated national pride that we, the voting throng enter those hallowed, flag-draped booths, pencils in hand ... during this mellow time of domestic and global harmony .... to decide between the Clown and the Crook ... knowing fully well that the Clod, the third sinking boat in this Bermuda Triangle, owns 8 percent of the polling power, and can capsize the outcome ... and is incapable of naming one foreign dignitary, past or present.

Recently, federal Judge Dana Christensen pled a fervent case for the preservation of the wolverine — victim, it would appear, to the ravages of another elusive, mystically misunderstood creature: “climate change.”

PC presidency is U.S. nightmare
Only in a politically correct, progressively “with it” New-Left America can one fully appreciate the trusting citizenry who embrace Hillary’s return to Washington ... dragging along her only-one-impeached choirboy hubby, Bill, to become our country’s First Gentleman. Hail to the chief! Now, just picture him roaming those halls for a midnight snack at 3 a.m ... when Hillary is customarily fast asleep ... as the butlers close their eyes and the maids grow nervous ...

LETTER: National disaster
How amusing it must be to observe our beloved country at this moment in history from a foreigner’s vantage point. Folks who have received untold millions of unrequited aid, and with it, an equal dose of bribery, coercion, leveraging and political manipulaton from elite factions of our government and shrewd business sectors.
LETTER: Gun control just may be necessary after all
Being a squinty-eyed, wary old outdoorsman, let alone a lifelong Montanan, it’s painful to make the transition to a new mindset; a grudging, grinding, gagging acceptance that our nation needs some calculated, calibrated measure of gun control.

OPINION: Evergreen fire leads one man to ask questions about future
As one of many residents of Evergreen, I enjoy the proximity to Kalispell coupled with our community’s flavor of country living.
LETTER: Believe in God to find answer to world's woes
So, one must mumble with gritted teeth the inevitable question in this unique election year....Whom between two unsettling characters do I trust to lead a nation sharply divided from within and threatened from without? A society torn by festering internal racial unrest while bullied by sadistic external fanatics of no conscience.

LETTER: The 'status quo has to go'
One only needs a moment’s casual reading of Bob McClellan’s frequent Inter Lake offerings to sense his love for society and desire for global harmony. His is a voice that emanates from the heart, and he speaks at a time when silence from the masses has no place. Anger must be heard. Peacefully expressed anger. It IS time for “change,” just as it was sloganed eight years ago with the advent of Barack Obama, the consummate sprint runner.
