Susan Renee Croker, 46
Susan Renee Croker, 46, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. Renee was born on March 25, 1963, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Jerry Lee and Patricia Peterson Casey. She was raised in Florida, where she attended school, graduating from high school there. Renee loved doing arts and crafts, and was very good at raising flowers. She and her partner of 16 years, Buck Lucas, moved to the Flathead Valley about six weeks ago. She is survived by her partner, Buck Lucas; her mother, Patricia Topp, and husband, Fred, of Kalispell; her father, Jerry Lee Casey; sons, Lee Bowler and Daniel Croker; daughters, Ashley Carroll and Annie Mosley; three sisters, Patricia Colley, Marie Bailey and Julie Birk; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph Joe A. Russell, 63
Joseph Joe A. Russell, 63, of Edmond, Okla., passed away on Aug. 18, 2010, in Oklahoma City. He was born on May 7, 1947, to George A. and Virginia L. Russell in Ardmore, Okla. On Feb. 4, 1982, Joe married Merry A. Hollopeter. Joe and Merry worked together in the child care industry for 25 years and the last 14 years as house parents at the Boys Ranch Town in Edmond, Okla. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Merry A. Russell; mother, Virginia L. Russell; children, Terry Graff, LeeAnn Graff, Dawn Russell, Jacob Russell, Jason Russell and wife, Lathisha; brother, John Russell and wife, Nola; sister, Betty Brewer and husband, John; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and all the children who have been such a big part of their lives. Joe was preceded in death by his father, George A. Russell; grandson, Henderson A. Galloway; and both sets of grandparents. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boys Ranch Town, 5100 East 33rd St., Edmond, OK 73012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond.
Mae Christian, 84
Our mother, our sister and our friend Mae Christian passed away Sept. 14, 2010, after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mae was born March 26, 1926, to Tillie and Jack Vance in Dagmar, Mont. In 1936, the family moved to Bigfork. She married John Buck on March 27, 1943. They had two children, Myrna Stillwaugh and Daniel Buck. On July 1, 1956, she married Tuffie Christian. They had three children, Ray Christian, Darwin Christian and Jawana Green. Mae worked at Kalispell Regional Hospital for 20 years. She enjoyed her daily visits to Del s for coffee and keno, making the pies for family gatherings and making quilts for friends and family. She is survived by a sister, Lois Nyby, of Joliet, Ill.; brother, Kenneth Vance, of Kalispell; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Mae s life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the home of Stan and Jawana Green, 3800 Foothill Road, Kalispell. Helen Otten Konshur, 74
Helen Otten Konshur, 74, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at the Lake View Care Center in Bigfork, after succumbing to Alzheimer s disease. She was born on Oct. 9, 1935, in Plentywood, the youngest of 12 children to Otto B. and Minnie (Bohlken) Otten. Helen went to school in Lookout and moved to Plentywood when she married Douglas Konshur on Sept. 28, 1953. The couple moved to Kalispell in 1965 where they built and operated Timberline Lumber for over 25 years, before retiring to Apache Junction, Ariz., in 1992. They purchased Treasure Chest Granite Pit in Apache Junction, which they operated together until Helen s return to the Flathead Valley in 2001. She had a warm, loving and generous spirit and will be missed by many. Helen was preceded in death by Douglas. She is survived by her daughter, Dixie Sherman, of Bigfork; her son, William Konshur, of Libby; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Helen will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 23, at Glacier Memorial Gardens. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for Helen s family.
