Woods Bay assailant sought

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who assaulted another man near the Raven Bar in Woods Bay at about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. The suspect is described as a Native American man in his early 20s, 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, with short unkempt black hair. Before law enforcement arrived on scene, the suspect took off southbound on Montana 35 toward Polson in a small white car with a loud exhaust. The suspect was accompanied by a white man and a Native American woman, both in their early 20s. The victim was taken by ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center where he remains hospitalized with significant injuries. A Polson man residing in Aurora, Colorado, was taken into custody Sunday morning and charged with first-degree murder following the death of a 20-year-old woman, also of Polson.
