Carole R. Isakson, 78

Carole R. Isakson, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010, surrounded by her family, at Edgewood Vista in Kalispell. Carole was born on Oct. 25, 1931, in Harlem, to John and Susie (Hendrickson) Soderstrom, the fourth of six children. While young, Carole moved with her family to the Flathead Valley where she received her education and graduated from Flathead County High School. On Dec. 31, 1950, she married the love of her life, Orville E. Isakson. Carole and Orville raised five children in a home full of love and laughter. She was very active in all of her children s lives, not only as mother, but as a best friend. Her life revolved around her family and her church. Carole passed on her love of life to her grandchildren and the highlight of their summers was the week that each got to spend at Grandma s house. Carole was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Michael; her parents; and a brother, Bill. She is survived by four children, Scott Isakson of Kalispell, Sandee Isakson of Columbia Falls, Buckley Isakson and wife, Debbie, of Kalispell, and Jodie Isakson-Bittinger and husband, Jim, of Trout Creek; 16 grandchildren, Lisel, Devon, Tami, Trista, Ryan, Elliott, Stephanie, Tracy, Brandi, Susan, Tyler, Averie, Ali, Kari, Megan and Brent; as well as two brothers and two sisters, Nita Fishel of Hemit, Calif., Bob Soderstrom and wife Arlene, Jane Connelly, and Mike Soderstrom and wife Anna, all of Kalispell. Carole was also blessed by many great-grandchildren. Memorial services for Carole were held on May 6 at the Church of Christ, 241 Stillwater Road, with James Williams officiating.
