Country artist Corb Lund to make stop in Whitefish
Award-winning underground country artist Corb Lund has his sights set on the American West, and is bringing his “Western Destinations” tour to more than 30 towns and cities starting May 17. Lund will play at the Remington Bar and Casino in Whitefish on May 31 at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and may be purchased at www.remingtonbar.com.
Arthur William Skip Davis Jr., 68
Arthur William Skip Davis Jr., 68, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at his home in Kalispell, with his family by his side. Skip was born on Aug. 24, 1942, in Maywood, Calif., to Arthur and Juanita (Daly) Davis. Skip lived in numerous places when he was young, because of his father s work in construction. They eventually settled in Boise, Idaho. Skip worked as a master metal finisher in the chrome plating business for 25 years. Skip was married first to Judy. They had two children, Tammy and Lori; they later divorced, and he then married his second wife, Shirley. They had three children, Chad, Christy and Alondra. Skip married Dianne Trevino on May 20, 1980. They celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2010. Skip and Dianne had three children, James and wife Nykole Davis, Joshua and wife Kerry Davis, and Allison Davis and Dan Moulton; and 11 grandchildren; as well as two lifelong friends, Fred Silva and John Dickman. Skip and family moved to Montana in 1984 so they could raise their children. He loved hunting, fishing, huckleberry picking and picking mushrooms. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. A potluck reception will follow the service at 124 Swan Ridge Court in Kalispell.
