Evelyn Wendt Latimer, 91, "left this world for a place of love and peace" on Jan. 7, 2007, in the Dorsey Center of the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, Md. of kidney failure. Evelyn was born Nov. 4, 1915, to Gus and Minnie Wendt Jr., in the Lake Blaine area of Flathead County.

Montanans deserve state-of-the-art health care
I appreciate Dr. Boharski’s thoughts (Daily Inter Lake, Dec. 9) on the high cost of health care and the changing local landscape. Being relatively new to medical practice in the Flathead Valley, I can only imagine what medical practice was like 25 years ago and can certainly understand the concerns of some who have watched it evolve into its current form.

- Megan Krupp has joined Immanuel Lutheran Communities as resident care coordinator of The Lodge at Buffalo Hill. Krupp began work at Immanuel as a student in Immanuel’s in-house CNA class after which she accepted a position working at The Immanuel Skilled Care Center. She then earned her Licensed Practical Nurse degree in the 2018. Immanuel helped Krupp achieve her education goal by awarding money from the Employee Education Fund every semester as she pursued her license.
Brock Whitehead, 51
Brock Whitehead “went to rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father” on March 15, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. In 2013, he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, glioblastoma. He fought a good fight. His words always were, “God is faithful” and “Ya gotta keep on … keeping on,” and that’s just what he did.
