Review: `Hurt Locker' strongest Iraq war film yet

Despite their admirable intentions and acclaimed names on both sides of the camera, the vast majority of movies made about the Iraq war have failed to hit the mark. Either they felt too preachy, like "Rendition" and "In the Valley of Elah," or they were rather standard action pictures like "The Kingdom."

Patsy G. Marsh, 71

We lost our very dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend at the age of 71, Oct. 18, 2010, after a four-year battle with cancer. Through it all, she remained the same kind, loving, supportive and beautiful woman we have always known. Patsy was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Paradise, to Ruby and Charles Porter. She was the third of six siblings. She met the love of her life, William Marsh, when she was 17 and soon married him in December of 1956. They made their home in Paradise where they first raised their six children. On July 31, 1971, after studying the Bible with Jehovah s Witnesses, Patsy dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized. She spent the rest of her life serving her God and one of her greatest joys was sharing the hope she d found with others. She believed with all her heart in the resurrection described in John 5:28-29 where it says, ... the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out ... This hope, along with the assurance in Psalm 37:29 of living forever on a paradise earth with her family and friends brought her great comfort. Some memorable things about Patsy include her kindness to family, friends and strangers alike. She always believed the best in all of us and helped us to believe in it, too. She was always there to celebrate with us during good times, and hold our hand through hard times. We will miss her spiritedness and playfulness. No one loved to play cards (And win!) as much as Patsy. She was passionate about shoes and had many of them. No one had a better sense of humor; she loved to laugh. We never had any doubt about how much she loved us; she told us every chance she could. Patsy is survived by her loving husband of nearly 54 years, Bill; their five children, Lonnie Marsh and Cindy of Missoula, Danny Marsh and Nancy of Missoula, Renae Duffield and Doug of Thompson Falls, Rachel Holland and Derrick of Missoula, and Shaun Marsh of Portland; also eight grandchildren, Ryan Marsh, Shannon Main and Phil, Stephanie Duffy and Casey, Brandon Duffield and Lyndsay, Derrin Holland, Kloe Holland, Kobe Marsh and McKenzie Marsh; also two great-grandchildren, Harpyr Sayler and Aiyana Duffy. She is also survived by her siblings, Bob Porter and Rose, Sandra Palaniuk and Ben, Cookie Riech and Kenny, and Kerry Porter and Sharon. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby Porter; a brother, Eddy Porter; and a cherished son, Daryn.
