Whitefish Fire Service Area dividing the community

I am a homeowner of 29 years in Hidden Valley, just down the road from the Whitefish Rural Fire Hall. I am very concerned about the urban/wild land interface and the threat of a wildfire in our wooded rural area north of Hodgson Road in between Whitefish Stage Road and U.S. 93 to the east and west and north to Montana 40.

Helen Weinmeister Mueller, 93, died peacefully on June 10, 2017. Helen was born on June 2, 1924 in Nashua, Montana. Born prematurely, the doctor refused to let Helen’s parents name her, as he was convinced that she would not live. Helen, with the fierce love and care of her immigrant parents, Jacob and Sophie Weinmeister, determined otherwise. She slept in a shoe box on the warming oven and, too weak to suckle, was fed with an eye dropper.

Alleged thieves arrive with kiddie trailer

Someone told Kalispell Police Department they saw a man and woman “roll up” on a bicycle and “kiddie trailer,” then the woman got out of the kiddie trailer, ran through bushes, returned with chairs and rolling luggage, which she put in the trailer, and took off. The man reportedly left on foot in the area of South Main Street. The person calling in the report believed they stole the items.

Prepare for the war of the hoses

A Kalispell man warned dispatchers “there’s going to be a war” once his son arrived home because he was upset that neighbors were reportedly trespassing on his property to use his water after telling them not to. Dispatchers asked what he meant by a war and he said it probably would be a verbal one only, according to the Kalispell Police Department.

A 17-year-old Whitefish boy was arrested Wednesday for text-messaging sexually explicit photographs of a 15-year-old girl over his cell phone. The boy, who was arrested in his home, is being held in the Flathead County juvenile detention facility. Sexual abuse of a child is a felony, according to the Whitefish Police Department.
