More than $1,300 in damage was done to construction equipment in a vacant lot off the road to the Hungry Horse Dam. A window on a dump truck was smashed, the fuel cap to an excavator went missing, and another piece of equipment was spray-painted. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies are investigating.

Dorothy Mae Engebritson, 93, passed away June 1, 2010, at her home in Kalispell, just as she wanted it to be. She was born Oct. 4, 1916, in Scobey, to George and Mary (Mow) Hunter. She spent her earlier years in Scobey and attended nursing school in Havre. She then moved to Kalispell, where she met and married the love of her life, Aril Engebritson, and they shared 70 wonderful years together. They had two children, a daughter, Vivian, and a son, Vernon. Mae helped her husband build and remodel several houses. She was a farmer s wife in every sense of the role. She drove tractors, helped with the cattle, did the books, raised her children, and worked full time. She was a very hard worker. She was a very caring person who was involved in many things for over 30 years. She worked at Flathead County and Kalispell Regional Hospital in the OB department as an LPN, was active in the Birch Grove Willing Workers, Neighbors in Need, and Woman United, and was a Charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where she was still an active member until her death. She was known for her famous homemade cinnamon rolls, family holiday dinners, and the handmade blankets, tablecloths, and clothes that she sewed, crocheted or knitted. Her yard was always beautiful with flowers, a big garden, and an open heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Aril Engebritson; grandson, James Engebritson; granddaughter, Annette Berryman; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Engebritson; and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Lash, of Seattle; daughter, Vivian Engebritson-Brunett, and husband, Jim, of Tucson, Ariz.; son, Vernon and wife, Agnes, of Kalispell; grandchildren, Terry Caudill and husband Mike, Tina Engebritson, and Vernon Engebritson and wife, Tracy, of Kalispell; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Mikey and Lisa Caudill, Chance and Cheyene Overnick, Chrissy Van Zant and husband John, and Shane and Kyle Engebritson, all of Kalispell, and Brandon and Nathan Berryman of Virginia; great-great-grandchildren, Mya Mcneely, Jowell Engebritson, Taeryn Caudill and Talyn Richardson. Funeral services for Mae will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Kalispell, with Pastor Kurt Rau officiating. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service. Mae will be laid to rest at Glacier Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial donations can be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or Hospice. Jack Wilson Muir, 93, of Butte, died on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at home with his wife of 70 years, Irene, at his side. He was born in Great Falls on Feb. 8, 1917, to Scottish immigrants, John and Mary Muir. He was proud of his Scottish heritage. Jack was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended local schools where he met his future wife, Irene Janetski. Both members of the Great Falls High School Band, they graduated in 1935. He attended the University of Montana and after three years transferred to the University of Oregon, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. After graduating from college, he attended the Thomas J. Watson School in Endicott, N.Y., which taught young executives to change old accounting systems into the new computer systems. He then went to work for the Anaconda Company in Great Falls as an accountant. On Dec. 7, 1940, he married his sweetheart, Irene. ACM then transferred him to their mine in Chuquicamata, Chile, where he set up their accounting system. Irene gave birth to their first daughter, Linda, in Chile. They lived there for five years. They returned to Great Falls where their two sons, Jack Jr., and Daniel, and daughter, Maryanne, were born. Jack continued to work for the ACM and was subsequently transferred to Butte in 1968, where he was a data processing supervisor. He retired from the company in 1979 after 40 years of service. Jack was a lifetime golfer, winning several tournaments over the years. He had many golfing friends and golfed into his late 80s. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Hugh. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Irene; his brother, Bob, and wife, Barbara, of Billings; daughter, Linda Coolidge, and Del, of Whitefish; son, Jack Jr., and wife, Sydney, of Lakeside; son, Daniel, and wife, Coreena, of Kalispell; and daughter, Maryanne, of New Jersey. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Brian Oelberg, Laura Wilson and family, Jennifer Muir Braunstein, Jeremy Muir and family, Justin Muir and family, and Jason Muir; five stepgrandchildren, Cody Bras, Lea Coolidge Gabriel, Evan Coolidge, Melanie and Melissa Taylor, nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Jack was much loved by his children and grandchildren for his ready wit and keen sense of humor. They enjoyed his funny songs and stories. Cremation has taken place in Butte. Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated for Jack at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Great Falls at a later date.
