William L. Felix, Sr. 92, died Thursday, Aug.16, 2007, at St. John's Nursing Home in Billings. He was born in Bigfork on Nov. 11, 1914, to William L. and Mabel (Pengelly) Felix. He spent his early years on the family farm there until they moved to Kalispell after the death of his father. He graduated from Flathead County High School in 1932.

Three men are charged with burglarizing the Army Navy Store in Whitefish after police reportedly caught two inside the building. Police were called at about 11 p.m. Thursday to the store when the owner stopped by and heard people in his storeroom. Arrested were Jonathan L. Garwood, 19, and Jordan L. Downing, 17, both of Columbia Falls. A third man fled, although officers believed they knew who he was. Friday morning, Derrick J. Jackson, 19, of Bigfork was seen in front of the Whitefish Police Department, "kissing his girlfriend, while trying to decide whether or not to surrender to police." Officers made that decision for him by arresting him. The young men are charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, dangerous drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
