Kermit Merle Edmonds of Missoula died Sept. 20, 2019, at the age of 81. He was a beloved father, brother, friend and teacher; and a noted historian, archaeologist and soldier. He died at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

Thousands of cherry blossoms fill the trees at Bigfork Orchards on Wednesday afternoon, April 20. According to orchard owner Fritz Groenke 8 out of 10 blossoms are in bloom. “This is a great time for a drive down the East shore,” said Groenke. “It couldn’t get much better.” Groenke also said the orchards in Polson are about five days ahead of the more northern trees in Bigfork. A man who appeared to be in his mid-20s got sick and passed out at the Whitefish train depot. Whitefish ambulance took him to the hospital.
