Norman L. Heindel, 87, of Kalispell died at the Brendan House of natural causes on Dec. 19, 2019. Norman was born April 18, 1932 in Singleshot, a whistle stop on the railroad between Essex and Marias Pass. He was born to Norman and Elma Heindel. The family moved to Kalispell around 1939, where he was raised and educated. Norman met his future wife, Joyce Hanson, in 1950. They were married in 1952 and spent 51 years devoted to each other in sickness and in death. His first home was in Evergreen, and they moved to Columbia Falls around 1982. Norman moved back to Kalispell in 2012 with his daughter, Debbie.

William L. Bill Luke, of Harrison, passed away in Butte on Feb. 6, 2010, after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 70 years old. Bill was born in Kalispell on Nov. 22, 1939, to LeRoy and Vivian (Moore) Luke. His grade school years were spent attending Bald Rock School. The family moved from Kalispell to the Valley View district near Polson in 1952, and Bill graduated from Polson High School in 1957. He worked for the Montana State Highway Department survey crew. Bill moved to Seattle in 1962, and worked for the Boeing Company for nearly 33 years. On Nov. 17, 1962, Bill married Betty Corlett in Black Diamond, Wash. They had four children, Ronald and Jackie Luke, of Crestview, Fla., Laura and Guy Olsen, of Federal Way, Wash., David and Chanon Luke of Black Diamond, Wash., and Dianne and Matthew Ridgway of Helena. There are 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty, of Harrison; mother, Vivian Luke, of Polson; sister, Carol Richmond, of Kalispell; brothers, Clifford and Bobbie Luke, Ralph and Lynda Luke, of Polson, and Duane and Elenie Luke of Lacey, Wash.; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Luke. Memorial services were held on Feb. 13 at the Harrison Community Church in Butte.

Albert L. Lee Draeger, 80, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Heritage Place in Kalispell, of natural causes. Lee was born Dec. 11, 1929, in Sherwin, Kan. He attended schools in Sherwin and in Hallowell, Kan. He entered the U.S. Army in November 1951 and was honorably discharged in October 1953. In 1955, he married Betty June Owen in Sherwin. They were married for 55 years before Lee passed. Lee worked as a farmer and later as a masonry contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, as well as breeding French Brittany gun dogs. Lee is survived by his wife, Betty J. Draeger, of Kalispell; son, R.C. Draeger, of Kalispell; daughters, Becky Anderson and husband, Joe, of Condon, and Deb Doney and husband, Allen, of Bigfork; brother, Marvin Draeger, of Columbus, Kan.; grandchildren, Kristi Dorcheus and husband, Nathan, PFC Dale Doney, Christopher Anderson and Nicholas Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Javien, Jaylean and Kobe Dorcheus. Visitation for Lee will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 23, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, at the Little Brown Church in Bigfork. Burial will follow at Lonepine Cemetery. Friends are encouraged to visit the website at www.buffalohillfh.com to leave notes of condolences for the family.
