Lorna M. Wilson, 93
Lorna M. Wilson, 93, elementary school teacher and avid bridge player, died May 28, 2007, in Kalispell. She was born Lorna Marian Susan Stark on May 26, 1914, in Poplar. She graduated from Richey High School, Eastern Montana Normal School and the College of Great Falls.
Kalispell Police fielded complaints about people driving badly.
Among them was a black Charger-type vehicle swerving on North Main Street until the driver hit the meridian and wound up in the wrong lane of traffic, a driver who went too fast and displayed too many fingers at the roundabout at Costco, a person who almost caused a head-on accident on West Idaho Street, and drag racers on U.S. 93 near the college.

Road work transitions to 24-hour schedule
U.S. 93 construction
Schellinger Construction, general contractor for the second phase of the U.S. 93 reconstruction project west of Whitefish – Karrow to Mountainside — will transition to working 24 hours a day, seven days a week starting at midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 1. This schedule will continue through approximately Nov. 10.
Meeting set for U.S. 93 corridor near Whitefish
Land-use consultant Dave DeGrandpre of Land Solutions Inc. will host a community meeting Thursday to discuss the possibility of developing a corridor land-use plan for properties in the 2-mile Whitefish planning jurisdiction — the “doughnut” area — that includes the U.S. 93 corridor south of Whitefish.
Myrtle Sarah White, 93
Myrtle Sarah White, 93, passed away March 20, 2010, in Eureka. Myrtle was born Jan. 23, 1917, to Russell and Dena Ray in Helena. She had one brother, Virgil Ray. She grew up in East Helena, where she attended school and worked at Shodair Hospital. Dec. 14, 1940, she married James Jefferson White. They lived in Helena, later moving to Idaho and then to Kalispell. Over the years she opened her home and heart to many foster children, and later offered care in her home for the elderly. After James retired from the Postal Service, they made their home in Eureka. For the past 12 years, Mountain View Manor has been her home and extended family. Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband, James; and brother, Virgil. She is survived by her son, James and Carla White, of Rexford; daughter, LaZetta and David Krause of Dallesport, Wash.; and five grandchildren, Warren Krause, Stacia Stojanoff, Brandon Krause, Kim Thomson and Zane White. She has five great-grandchildren. Myrtle was a tiny lady with a heart of gold. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
