Coffee roaster adapts with walk-up facility
The historic covered wagon parked outside the Montana Coffee Traders location on U.S. 93 South near Whitefish displays a wooden sign that urges customers to “come on in” for “beans, drinks [and] gifts.” But as life is changing around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so, too, is the traditional coffee-shop setting at the beloved roastery.

Three Rivers Ambulance and Columbia Falls police were called Tuesday night to the Super 1 Foods parking lot for an 11-week-old infant with croup who was coughing and vomiting. The parents took the baby to a hospital.
Alarms
Kalispell fire department had 11 calls. One was to a head-on car crash on U.S. 93 in Somers late Sunday afternoon. Also responding was Somers fire department and Lakeside fire & medical. Three patients went to the hospital; none reportedly had life-threatening injuries.
State revives couplet plans
Some of the scene has changed since this 2002 aerial photo was taken of the county courthouse complex — traffic around the courthouse is now one instead of two lanes and the two buildings flanking the old courthouse have been removed. State highway officials have revived plans to rebuild the couplet around the courthouse. Flathead County Sheriff
Late Monday, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle crashing into a power pole on U.S. 93 about three miles north of Whitefish. A man was temporarily stuck in the vehicle and there were downed power lines involved. The man was taken by ambulance to North Valley Hospital and Flathead Electric Cooperative was dispatched to manage the downed lines.
Whitefish police
assisted deputies in a pursuit just before 4 a.m. The pursuit went from Whitefish Stage to Hodgson to Bear Trail to Cougar to Goat Trail back to Hodgson on to U.S. 93 to Montana 40. Whitefish officers assisted by planting stop sticks. The chase continued on Dillon Road, on Armory Road, to Second and down Edgewood.

Kalispell fire and ambulance had seven calls. They took two patients to the emergency room after a two-vehicle accident at U.S. 93 North and Grandview about noon Sunday. Saturday evening, a dog was rescued from Foy's Lake before emergency workers arrived.
Two people were injured in a head-on vehicle collision
at U.S. 93 and Rocky Cliff Road. The Somers Fire Department took the injured people to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The Montana Highway Patrol still was investigating the accident Sunday.
Crash near Pablo kills 3-year-old girl
A 3-year-old girl was killed and three other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on U.S. 93 near Pablo.
Animals saved from fire

POLSON — A pickup truck and a passenger car collided head-on Tuesday on U.S. 93 between Elmo and Big Arm, killing both people in the car.
