Architect chosen for Muldown rebuild
Whitefish School District selected L’Heureux Page Werner as the architect and Dow’s Custom Construction as the owner’s representative of it’s $26.5 million elementary school project to build a new school to replace Muldown Elementary.

DeAna L. (Carrell) Zattosky, 48
DeAna L. (Carrell) Zattosky, 48, passed away on Sept. 2, 2009, in Kalispell surrounded by her husband, mother and daughter, after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born on Feb. 21, 1961, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Donny and Doris (Cocek) Carrell. Her early childhood years were spent in Ogden, Utah, until moving to Kalispell in 1973. DeAna graduated from Flathead High School in 1979. Most recently she attended her 30th high school reunion.

Zelma L. Strasdin, 98
Zelma L. Strasdin went to meet her Lord on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at the age of 98, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born Jan. 3, 1912, in Imperial, Calif. Zelma was the second of four children to Peter and Libe Strasdin. Strong values were instilled at an early age, which encouraged Zelma to pursue an interest in the ministry. Zelma graduated from Roosevelt High School in Oakland, Calif., then attended Glad Tidings Bible Institute in California. She became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. Her career spanned 60 years of service in California and Nevada. Never marrying, Zelma s activities revolved around church and family. She retired to care for her mother, moving together to join a sister in Kalispell, in 1981. After being preceded in death by her mother and older sister, Zelma moved to the Immanuel Lutheran Home in 2004, where she was loved and cared for. During her stay at Immanuel Lutheran Home, she was preceded in death by her younger sister and younger brother. Zelma was preceded in death by her sisters, M. Helene Meinicke and Elsa Macfarlane; and brother, Arthur Stasdin. She is survived by nieces, Roberta Morken and husband, Joe, of Somers, Bonnie Macfarlane of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Michelle Baker of Beaverton, Ore.; nephews, Paul Strasdin and wife, Cathy, of Fallon, Nev., and Robert Macfarlane of Warren, Ore.; and many cousins and great-nieces and -nephews. Graveside Services for Zelma will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Johnson - Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Zelma s family. Esther L. Heser, 95
Esther L. Heser, 95, passed away Tuesday, Feb., 13, 2007, at Heritage Place in Kalispell. Esther was born Aug. 25, 1911, in Powell, Wyo., to Margaret and Elijah Loomis. She lived in Powell until the family moved to The Dalles, Ore., when she was 12. Two years later the family moved to Vancouver, Wash., and lived there until 1927, when the family moved to Brockway. Esther went to high school in Terry until the school in Brockway re-opened. She graduated from Brockway in 1931 as valedictorian in her class of seven.
Gwenith L. Moen, 81
Gwenith L. Moen, 81, passed away on April 26, 2005, at Brendan House in Kalispell after a short battle with lung cancer. Gwen was born in Chester to George and Martha Ross on Sept. 14, 1923. She was the sixth of seven children. In 1936 she moved with her family to Rexford, and graduated from Lincoln County High School in Eureka in 1941.

Clara L. Lipp, 86
Clara L. Lipp, 86, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010, in Kalispell. Clara was born on June 21, 1924, to Alphonse and Hilda Muller in Hingham. She attended school in Hingham, graduating in 1942. On Oct. 8, 1946, she married Phillip Lipp in Hingham. They resided in Hingham until 1983, when they retired and moved to Kalispell. Clara spent many enjoyable years bowling, golfing, doing needlework and getting visits from family and friends. Clara is survived by her husband, Phillip Lipp, of Kalispell; daughters and sons-in-laws, Marge and Bob Hoene of Bigfork, Jane and Nate English of Lolo, Rita and John Laird of Chester, Diane and Keith Engebritson of Kalispell, and honorary daughter Kim Spicher of Whitefish; grandchildren, Casey, Sara, Jessica, Cory, Heather, Mitch, Aaron, Megan, Keegan and Leah; and great-grandchildren, Carolyn, Finley, Edie, Evelyn, Georgia, Declan, Cartrin and Spencer. She is also survived by two sisters, Viola Rambo of Libby, and Eileen Bucholtz, of Beach, N.D.; two brothers and their spouses, John and Joann Muller of Hibbing, Minn., and Jim and Shirley Muller of Rudyard. Clara was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Davies; and a grandson, Drew Engebretson. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m. today, July 2, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 3, at Risen Christ Catholic Church with the Rev. Rudy Bullman officiating. Interment will follow the services at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. The family request memorials be made to the charity of the donor s choice in Clara s name.
