Gerald “Jerry” Martin Tucker was born Jan. 26, 1931, in Missoula, the son of Reginald “Red” Tucker and Eva Olsen Tucker. He was raised and educated in Missoula, an alumnus of the Missoula County High School Class of 1949. He graduated from the University of Montana in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business. He then served two years in Japan and Korea as an officer with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
