A development plan for 70 acres along U.S. 93 South in Whitefish is back on the Whitefish City Council agenda for a third time on Monday, Aug. 6.
Man calls 911 for ride to mom's house
A man on U.S. 93 South called 911 and sniffled before hanging up. He called back saying “I need a ride to my mom’s house,” and hung up. Upon reconnecting, he pleaded again for a ride to his mom’s and dispatchers apparently heard another man in the background saying something about him “wigging out.” Dispatchers told the man to stop calling 911.
Kalispell plagued by gas thieves
Kalispell Police Department took a report of a woman who was allegedly caught on camera stealing gas from First Avenue East twice over two days.

Man gets the boot and steals one in return
A woman reported a stolen boot and bird feeder on Grandale Avenue in Kalispell to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. She claimed a man stole the items when he was evicted. Deputies spoke to the man who purportedly admitted he had the boot but denied having the bird bath. He told deputies he would return the boot. The woman was advised of the outcome and supposedly said “if she loses the bird bath just to be done with the situation, that was fine.”
Man recorded allegedly abusing child
Kalispell Police Department received a report from someone calling on U.S. 93 South who allegedly saw a stocky man drag an 8-to-10-year-old child out of a white pickup by the throat, shake him, scream in his face and slam him against the vehicle. The caller reportedly had some video footage of the incident.

Lena Johanna Weimar, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born May 2, 1915, in Riceton, Saskatchewan, to Otto B. and Minnie S. (Bohlken) Otten.

Funeral services for a Montana Highway Patrol trooper killed in the line of duty are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Center Assembly of God Church in Kalispell.
Police break up large bar brawl
Kalispell Police broke up a fight at a bar near Woodland Park that reportedly involved as many as 10 men early Tuesday.

A disabled Lakeside man angry an unnamed social service agency called a human rights association threatening to get a gun and shoot up the town. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies determined the man was just venting.

Sister Margaret Ann McManus, RSM, (formerly Sister Mary Annunciata), 93, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, in Queen of Angels Health Center. As she requested, her body has been donated to the School of Medicine Anatomy Department at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies received a report of a poacher spotlighting animals near the intersection of U.S. 2 and Montana 40. When deputies looked into the matter, they discovered their reported "poacher" was just showing out of town visitors what deer looked like.
