Toymaker Lego will stick to its quest to find sustainable materials despite failed recycle attempt

Lego said it has "decided not to progress" with making its trademark colorful bricks from recycled plastic bottles made of polyethylene terephthalate, known as PET, and after more than two years of testing "found the material didn't reduce carbon emissions."

The tours and times for July 24 have been sold out. There is still time to book a self-guided tour for their Aug. 4 Sweet Summer Days visits. Tours are limited to 20 visitors to help maintain safe social distancing. Tickets must be purchased in advance as there are no ticket sales at the gate. The preferred method for purchasing tickets is online through biblergardens.org.

Carl Wayne Feathers, 50

Carl Wayne Feathers was born on June 8, 1959, in Limestone, Maine, to Chester T. and Mary E. (Plummer) Feathers. He died on Dec. 3, 2009, in Lawton, Okla., at the age of 50. Carl was raised in a military family and attended school in several states prior to graduating from high school in San Bernardino, Calif. He attended college for a while and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1982. Carl served for over five years as a radio communications specialist in San Antonio, Texas, and Stutgart, Germany. After his discharge, he remained in San Antonio and was employed as an electronics repair technician. He moved to Lawton in 2004 and had been employed at Lawton Communications for the last five years. In his spare time Carl enjoyed doing woodwork, hiking and gourmet cooking. Carl was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Mary Riehl, and her husband, Dennis, of Kalispell; three brothers, Chet Feathers and wife Terry of Vacaville, Calif., Bob Feathers USN and his wife Beth, currently stationed at Norfolk, Va., and Mark Feathers of Kalispell; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
