An adult female grizzly bear was euthanized Oct. 25 in Ferndale after Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials determined the animal had become food-conditioned in a residential area, according to a press release.

Catherine Rose (Nigg) Reed, daughter of Anna Morgan and Simon Nigg, passed away June 9, 2009. Katie was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Conrad, where she attended school.
Rita Audrey (Rader) Moore, 87
Rita Audrey (Rader) Moore, 87, passed away March 11, 2010, at Lake View Care Center, from natural causes. She was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Winthrop, Wash., and attended high school in Winthrop. In 1938, she married Robert C. Moore in Chelan, Wash. They were married for 25 years. Rita was retired from Pacific Bell Telephone. She enjoyed reading, old time movies, gardening " especially flowers, and stream fishing. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Rader, and mother, Eva Rader; her husband, Robert C. Moore; and sons, Robert L. and Richard L. Moore. Rita is survived by her son, Buck Moore, and his wife, Karen Moore; and grandchildren, Debra Moore of Davis, Calif., Michael Moore of Los Angeles, Brandon Moore of Statesville, N.C., Stacie Thornes of White Sulphur Springs, and Shannon Moore and Jason Moore. Per Rita s request, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be scattered over the mountains of Montana.

Woman collects $1,000, goes directly to jail
Flathead County Sheriff's deputies received a report of a 25-year-old woman who allegedly stole her grandmother's credit card and used it to get a $1,000 cash advance. Deputies located the woman and arrested her on a warrant for issuing bad checks. She is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on $1,000 bail.
