'Beast' mode
Sean Hastings completes a water obstacle during the Montana Spartan Beast on Saturday at the Flathead Lake Lodge in Bigfork. The Montana Spartan Race added the more difficult Beast obstacle course this year. The Beast covers 14 miles and has about 40 obstacles whereas the traditional Spartan Sprint Race covers five miles and has about 25 obstacles. The Sprint will be held today starting at 7:30 a.m. Admission for spectators is $25 at the gate. Paid parking is located at the junction of Montana 82 and Montana 35, with free shuttle service to the race.
