Gretchen Elaine Sutton, 76
Gretchen Elaine Sutton passed away on Oct. 12, 2009, at her home in Lynnwood, Wash., after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Gretchen was born on Dec. 3, 1932, in Kalispell, to Thomas and Maybelle St. Germain. She moved with her family to Monitor, Wash., and graduated from Cashmere High School in 1951. Gretchen enlisted in the Women s Air Force. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star (Goldenrod and Alderwood Chapters) and a past Worthy Matron and Deputy Instructor. Gretchen was married to Mark J. Sutton Sr., for 27-plus years. She is survived by their children, Dean and Heather of Everett, Wash., Blanche and Sal Saladino of Poulsbo, Wash., Mary and Ken Thresher of Wenatchee, Wash., Mark and Glenna of Bremerton, Wash., Ray of Snohomish, Wash., and Brian and Stephani of Everett; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; niece, Germaine Belt, and nephew, Dale Gould, of Kalispell. A celebration of Gretchen s life, under the direction of Purdy & Waters Floral Hills in Lynnwood, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18. Viewing will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An online memorial will be available at www.mem.com. Donations in memory of Gretchen may be made to Washington State Special Olympics, or Providence Hospice of Snohomish County.
Jack Edward Casey, 12
Jack Edward Casey, 12, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Children s Mercy Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Church of the Harvest, in Olathe, Kan. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the funeral home to help defray expenses. He was in the seventh grade at Rosedale Middle School where he was on the football and track team. He attended the Church of the Harvest in Olathe. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clara Covey. He is survived by his parents, Tad Casey of Kansas City, Jennifer Casey of Kalispell, and Juanita Covey of Kansas City; brothers, Matthew Casey, Scott Casey, Austin Wilkenson and Ethan Wilkenson, all of Kansas City; sister, Shelby Casey, of Kansas City; grandparents, Ron Covey of Kansas City, Duane Hull of Bell, Tenn., Lory Casey of Poway, Calif., and Anthony and Cheryl Gamble of Fort Collins, Colo.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Donald Dell Manning, 89
Donald Dell Manning, 89, of Polson, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, after a six-year battle with multiple myeloma. Donald was born on July 28, 1920, in Nortonville, N.D., the son of Dell and Edith Manning. He married Anna G. Kimble on April 27, 1946. After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, the couple moved to Polson in 1970. Don loved photography, gardening and woodcarving. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Polson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is missed very much. Besides his parents, his wife, Anna, who passed away in 2008, and two sons, Jerry and David, preceded him in death. Don is survived by his daughters, Jane, Margie and Dona; along with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Don and his son David Manning, who passed away in 2009, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson, with the Rev. Mark Calhoun officiating. There have been many comments relative to the Iran nuclear treaty illuminating how bad this agreement is, and I agree. Thanks to Sen.
