Joan Taylor DeRosia, 74

Joan Taylor DeRosia, 74, of Kalispell, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010. She was born on Oct. 12, 1935, to John and Edith Taylor in Wenatchee, Wash., and was raised in the Kalispell area. She attended grade schools in Cut Bank, West Glacier, Kalispell and Evergreen, and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1955. Joan worked at various secretarial jobs in the Flathead Valley, and worked at Aluma Glass for 18 years. Joan married Chester DeRosia in 1965, and they were married for 20 years. She met Aaron Hall in 1989, and he was her partner until his death on March 28, 2005. Joan s interests included golf, embroidery and crocheting. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester DeRosia; and her partner, Aaron Hall. Joan is survived by her partner, Richard Ortiz; her daughters, Carolyn Taylor (Bob) Cornelius, and Wendy Larson; sons, Gary (Stacy) Taylor, and Bob DeRosia; brother, John E. (Kathy) Taylor; sister, Rosella Proefrock (Lee) Isaacson; grandchildren, Brian Larson, Victor (Christina) Larson, Kayla Larson (Jason Counts), Todd Griffin, A.J. Griffin (Clifton) Slay, Ryan (Lillie) Griffin, Daisey (Brad) Davisson, Samantha DeRosia (David Decker), and Miranda DeRosia; great-grandchildren, Haylee Larson, Koda Larson, Kagen Larson, Ella Counts, Larkin Griffin, Hawkin Griffin, and Jason Davisson. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 12, at Fairview Cemetery in Columbia Falls. Memorials may be sent in Joan s name to a hospice of the donor s choice.
