Man threatens officers with machete after high-speed chase
Following a high-speed chase, Kalispell Police officers apprehended a man using stop sticks and a stun gun after the man allegedly threatened officers with a machete Tuesday night.

Linda Rae (Nelson) Spencer, 74, a longtime resident of the Whitefish area, died Jan. 29, 2017, at Diamond Retirement Living in Henderson, Nevada. She and Ronald G. Spencer were married for 25 years, and he departed this life roughly two years ago.

Police investigate inappropriate signs
The Whitefish Police Department received a call about three young men standing on a corner on Hospital Way, displaying what the caller described as “vulgar” signs. The caller said she didn’t know who the men were or what their purpose was. An officer spoke with the men, who agreed to move along.
'Lassie' dodged trouble to make it home safely
A border collie avoided disaster after it was seen running in and out of traffic on U.S. 93 as cars swerved to avoid it. The canine was eventually found by its owner and made it home safely.
