The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was advised that a grandmother, wanting to teach a lesson to her 5-year-old granddaughter she was raising, called 911 after telling her granddaughter she would if the girl did not calm down.

Kalispell Police responded to a report of a car hitting a bicyclist Monday at Nevada Street and Sunset Boulevard. The rider got some road rash but was up and walking around  when the officer arrived.

Deciding what kind of curbs to install at the busy Baker Avenue intersection with U.S. 93 was a tall order for the Whitefish City Council on Monday, but after two hours of discussion and two votes the council opted for street-level ramps at the crosswalks.

Kalispell Police Department received a report from a woman on Seventh Avenue East Wednesday who said it appeared as though someone had burglarized her home and eaten dinner. A window leading to the home’s basement had been broken.

Dr. Robert “Bob” M. O’Neil, Emeritus Professor of English at California State University, Fresno and in retirement a resident again of his native Kalispell and Lakeside, died peacefully on Oct. 22, 2021, at the age of 93.
