Five Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance on Ridgewood Drive. A man allegedly pushed a woman out of a pickup truck, right in the middle of the road. Then another truck showed up and two additional people got involved in the altercation. Deputies ended up arresting one man on a Lincoln County warrant and towing both vehicles because nobody had a valid driver's license.

A pair of raccoons race Wednesday morning across the front steps of a home, 669 First Ave. E.N., in Kalispell while roaming the neighborhood south of Lawrence Park. Students from Trego School gather around a hot air balloon basket Monday morning as the pilot hits the propane burner during a wildfire education program for area students. The warm blast was a relief to the students, who were shivering in the cold and rainy weather. The Smokey Bear Hot Air Balloon, which unfortunately was not able to inflate due to the weather, is a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping prevent human-caused wildfires. Several hundred students participated in the Wildfire Awareness Day, which was organized by the U.S. Forest Service and incorporated local fire departments and other public-land agencies.

Prosecutors have upped the charge to murder against an Evergreen man implicated in the May 5 shooting death of a 19-month-old child.

Evergreen firefighter Kevin Wise and Flathead County Emergency Services Director Mark Peck prepare to clean up a 75-gallon diesel spill Thursday on Montana 35 in Evergreen. The spill happened after a Sudan Drilling work truck traveling west collided with a Flathead Food Bank van heading east. The driver of the truck said the van turned in front of him, giving him no time to avoid the collision. Traffic was delayed intermittently for about two hours. No one was injured.

Kristi Lynn Davis suffered a massive stroke and died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The daughter of Robert and Fran Davis, Kristi was born Oct. 25, 1957, in Seattle. She grew up in the Flathead Valley, spent summers at her family's cabin on Flathead Lake, and attended Cornelius Hedges Elementary School in Kalispell.
