Flathead County Sheriff's deputies began searching for a three-year-old boy Wednesday night in Evergreen. The boy, Loic Rogers, was reported missing around 7:10 p.m. In addition to dozens of neighbors, Flathead County Search and Rescue, Evergreen Fire Department and Whitefish Police Department also worked on the search effort. The Sheriff's Department activated "A Child is Missing" hotline, which called hundreds of people within a designated radius of the home to help with the search. Shots fired lead to alleged suicide attempt
Several Flathead County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of shots being fired at a residence on North Hilltop Drive near Columbia Falls Tuesday night. When they arrived, they saw a man and a woman wrestling over a rifle through the house's window. The two were told to drop the weapon, which they did. According to a subsequent report, the woman had threatened suicide and the man was attempting to wrestle the gun away from her. She was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

Sharon Francis Bergman of Polson, lost her battle with cancer on Jan. 19, 2007, at the age of 81. She was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Denver, to Arthur and Cora Wynne. The family homesteaded in Gila Bend, Ariz.; then moved to Polson, where she went to Polson High School, graduating in 1942.

Norbert Francis Donahue passed away on Jan. 21, 2007, at Brendon House in Kalispell of natural causes. Norbert was born March 9, 1918, in Spokane. He was the son of Dennis Bernard Donahue and Elizabeth Chasse. The family lived in Cut Bank, and Norbert attended the public schools there through grade four. He subsequently attended St. Thomas Home Catholic boarding school in Great Falls, St. Jude parish school in Havre, Cut Bank High School, and Missoula County High School, from which he graduated in 1935.

Somebody with too much time on their hands and at least one too many BB guns in their possession caused a lot of grief in Kalispell starting just after midnight Sunday. A woman made her way to the police station after a domestic assault at the home, but was concerned for a 2-year-old who still was in the house with the man who allegedly was intoxicated. He wouldn't open the door for the officers, so they forced their way in.

Alcohol was a theme for Whitefish police overnight Sunday. They said it heavily influenced a 54-year-old man when he was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct at his home, another man banging to get in the door at a fast-food restaurant, and a woman walking down Somers Avenue.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office charged a 44-year-old man Sunday night on suspicion of sexual intercourse without consent and DUI. His victim reported the incident, saying he took her to his former home. She did not know where he was by the time she got to a phone. An hour later, another report came in that he was intoxicated and trying to take his children from their home. Deputies caught up with him shortly after.

Woman stabbed her boyfriend
A 26-year-old woman stabbed her 43-year-old boyfriend after an argument Saturday evening in Columbia Falls. The wounds were minor, and no ambulance transportation was needed. No arrests were made Saturday. The Flathead County Sheriff's Office, Columbia Falls police, the Columbia Falls Fire Department and Three Rivers Emergency Medical Service responded to the incident.
Kalispell police
Kalispell police used a Taser to subdue and arrest a 41-year-old man at a traffic stop Saturday afternoon at Kalispell Center Mall. The man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, careless driving and having no insurance. A Kalispell ambulance crew checked out the man at the Flathead County jail and concluded he did not need to go to a hospital.

Three bales of hay fell out of a pickup Saturday afternoon on Montana 40. A person in a nearby car stopped and moved the bales off the road. The pickup driver returned and threw a beer can at the other person's car, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office reported.

"Matt" Himsl, 94, longtime state legislator, prominent Kalispell businessman, educator and civic leader, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Brendan House in Kalispell of natural causes, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Bethune, Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Victor and Clara (Engels) Himsl.
