Lost in the maize
Wyatt Green and Payton Buffington of Columbia Falls make their way through Chris Fritz's corn maze last Saturday afternoon north of Kalispell off Birch Grove Road. Fritz, who leases and farms his parents' land, said he first created a corn maze last year as a way to supplement his farm income and provide entertainment to area residents. The numerous, winding paths that Fritz cut through about three acres of corn, lead visitors on a treasure hunt. The maze will be open each weekend through Halloween; admission is $5 per person. The corn will later be fed to cattle.
