Sifuentes has been a custom sign maker for 35 years. He said that he would spend about 15 hours painting each door. "I look at this as working on a piece of history," said Sifuentes. "As an artist it is an honor and a privilege to restore something like this." Work on the Second Street reconstruction is expected to wrap up for the season sometime in early to mid-November, according to City Manager Chuck Stearns. Separately, Central Avenue between First Street and Railway opened up Saturday, completing the final phase of that three-year downtown improvement project, Stearns said.

The next exhibition will open January 5.
